Chardonnay is a perfect example of a wine that gets really fun with a little age, but doesn’t need to go for 30 years to develop full complexity. We generally find that Chardonnay is at its best in the 5-10 year range, but there are lots of fun ones going much further back.
This Thursday, the triumphant return of Bring-A-Bottle events. Bring a good bottle of Chardonnay from 2020 or before and come ready to taste and chat aged Chardonnay. For my part, I’ll be bringing one of our favorite new producers: 2013 Pont Neuf ‘Le Pont Neuf’ Chardonnay. We recently got the 2022 Pont Neuf in and are in love with it, so we can’t wait to see what a bottle with age is like.
We’re going to open up the cellar and have lots of really cool pre-2020 Chardonnays for sale if you don’t have one of your own to bring. And, we’ll have some great cheeses out to complete the experience. Please try to arrive by 6 so all the wines get here at once. Cost of event is $10 and a bottle.
