While the fruit is, naturally, a key here, it’s the spice, floral, and sweet earth sensations that set the Poseidon Pinot Noir apart from the pack. Smell and taste wild red cherries, rhubarb, raspberry, dried violets and red roses, black tea, meat locker and blood orange. Medium bodied, gentle tannins and savory. I like that this Pinot gives so much more than “just” fruit, but rather a food-friendly, layered, more savory wine. I won’t classify it as Burgundian, but it does lean in that direction.
