The Olette Pinot Noir “King Jay” Sonoma Coast 2019 is an ode to owner/winemaker Jenny Lyn Heim’s father. He loved good, strong Pinot Noir. “King Jay” is sourced from a 6-acre vineyard, surrounded by coastal redwoods in the Sonoma Coast AVA, 5 miles from the Pacific and 1200 feet elevation. It’s a special spot for Pinot Noir, and Olet’te’s Jen Heim pays it due respects with this exceptional wine.

My Olette Pinot Noir wine review

The Olette Pinot Noir “King Jay” 2019 marries ripe, high-toned fruit with warm and earthy spices. Deep, dark cranberry/raspberry, ruby red grapefruit, wild red cherry, allspice, porcini mushroom, bay leaf and juniper smells and flavors are cohesive, intense and wonderful. Such wines so often go thin at the end…not here. Flavors, sweet and savory, persist along with a mouth-watering acidity. Super-tasty now and a future of steady improvement as it takes on flesh. Best drinking I suspect will begin about 2025.

For another wine owned and made by Jenny Lyn Heim, try the Tribe & Arrow Cabernet Sauvignon 2019.
