Single vineyard Cab from the side of Mt George which looks down on Napa from the east. I so admire and enjoy the style and quality of the Maitre de Chai Cabernet Sauvignon Gala Mountain 2019. (Goes for all their wines.) A nod to classic Napa Cab style with the French herbs & cassis mingling with the deep red and blue fruits on the nose. In the mouth I get summer berry basket, cedar, licorice, dried ginger. Fine tannins, balancing acidity and a finish with more of the same plus a seductive Amaro-esque bitterness. Very lite barrel influence (aged in all previously used barrels). Very tasty now with a long life ahead of it. At $45 for fine Napa Cab the value speaks for itself.
