Friday Night Flight: Produttori del Barbaresco

Join us on Friday, February 6, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM for an evening dedicated to one of Italy’s greatest wine treasures: Produttori del Barbaresco. 

Since its founding in 1958, the Produttori has served as the reference point for classic Barbaresco. Born out of the economic hardships of the 1950s, the cooperative began when a local parish priest organized 19 struggling growers to produce wine communally. This spirit of community remains at the heart of the winery today, with roughly 60 members now owning the lion’s share of the region’s most prestigious vineyards.

During this tasting, you will experience the results of the Produttori’s steadfast traditionalism. While many modern producers moved toward short macerations and small oak barrels (barriques), the Produttori remains committed to traditional methods, including long primary fermentations and aging for up to three years in large wooden botti. This approach yields “gloriously transparent wines” that allow the distinct character of the Barbaresco’s clay and limestone terroir to shine through.

We will start with their entry level Langhe Nebbiolo before exploring 4 of their single-vineyard Riservas.
