This is big-flavored, broad-shouldered Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir done the right way. Lip-smacking tasty and very ripe dark red & black cherries, allspice, cinnamon and dark rose smells and flavors announce themselves with no reservations. Rich, approachable, satisfying. My experience with the 2014 Alden Alli (as a wine merchant) and the appealing style tells me higher end California Pinot Noir drinkers will LOVE this wine.
Alden Alli is a relatively new winery co-owned by the Kosta and Lagasse families (Dan Kosta-Kosta Browne fame and Chef Emeril Lagasse). Shane Finley, one of my favorite Pinot Noir winemakers in California, makes it. Grapes for Alden Alli are sourced from Petaluma Gap and western Sonoma vineyards. If you’re thinking this all points to a knock-your-socks-off Pinot Noir, you’re RIGHT.
