Napa vintners David Huang and Clinton Holdsworth love Dry Creek Valley Zinfandels. It’s all they make: three of them. The David Clinton Zinfandel Teldeschi is their oldest vine Zin coming from 130+ year old vines.

Why David Clinton Zinfanel Teldeschi Ancient Vine is special

I point out to tasters at the wine bar how translucent the wine is. Typical of older vines, there’s less color, less overtly jammy fruitiness and MORE spice! Wonderful spiciness like cracked black pepper, cola, soy sauce and Indian spices plus beef jerky and liqueur-like red berry fruits. Wonderfully complex: Like a tree’s rings show its age, the many layers of flavors (complexity) show off the old vines.
