Taste a Dozen: Georgia

March 21, 2025 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
$40

Taste a dozen wines from the country of Georgia, Friday, March 21st from 5-8pm at Outer Space.

Georgia has an 8000 year old winemaking tradition that has all of the elements we love when it comes to wine: unique, indigenous grapes, idiosyncratic winemaking methods, and regional diversity. The country is roughly the size of New Jersey, but has a huge mountain range (the Caucus Mountains), coastal influence (the Black Sea), and borders Turkey and is only 100 miles from Iran. Most of the wines are made in clay amphora buried underground called qvevri. Lots of the wines are made with extended skin contact, even the whites, which they call Amber wines.

Here’s the lineup of wines we’re tasting:

Guardians, Kakheti Rkatsiteli (2022)

Baia’s Wine, Tsitska Tsolikouri (2021)

Chona’s Marani, Rkatsiteli (2021)

Teliani Valley, Glekhuri Kisi Qvevri Amber Dry (2020)

Pataridze’s Rachuli, Rachuli Rosé (2022)

Teliani Valley, W97 Saperavi (2023)

Château Mukhrani, Tavkveri Dry Red (2017)

Château Mukhrani, Goruli Mtsvane (2021)

Gvantsa’s Wine, Aladasturi Rosé (2021)

Dilao, Rkatsiteli Mtsvane Amber Dry (2022)

Gvantsa’s Wine, Pet Nat Tsitska (2023)
