DESCRIPTION:I don’t know whether the best way to sell this event is “Rioja: so much more than Tempranillo” or “Rioja: Taste Legendary Tempranillo.” So let’s go with both. \nFriday night we’ll be tasting an incredible Rioja lineup that includes a broad array of Rioja. Want to taste legendary Tempranillo-based wines like Lopez de Heredias 2012 Viña Tondonia (the benchmark Rioja) and a 1970 Paternina. Want to try classic Rioja aged for 13-55 years? This is your tasting. \nWe’ll also be tasting a range of other Rioja—two whites (Viura\, Maturana Blanca)\, Grenache from 80 year old vines\, and a more modern style Rioja blend\, just for context. Additionally\, we’ll have some other back vintage Rioja available if you catch the bug! \nTasting is from 5-8\, with remarks about Rioja from the importer at 6pm. So\, bring your questions and come ready to learn about Spain’s most famous region. \nWe will be serving Spanish inspired snack plates as well. \nThe tasting is $40 or FREE for social club members!
