SUMMARY:TASTE THE COLORS OF SLATE WITH CLEMENS BUSCH
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an exporation of minerality through the lens of Clemens Busch. \nClemens Busch is one of the leading producers in Germany’s Mosel\, based in the village of Pünderich and focused almost entirely on Riesling grown on the steep slate slopes of the famous Marienburg vineyard. Run by Clemens Busch and his wife Rita since 1984 (now joined by their son Johannes)\, the estate has become a benchmark for terroir-driven Mosel wines. Busch was an early pioneer of organic and biodynamic farming in the region\, eliminating herbicides in the 1970s and converting fully to biodynamics in the 2000s. Their wines are known for expressing the different slate soils of Marienburg—red\, blue\, and grey—each producing distinct styles of precise\, mineral-driven Riesling. \nWhether or not you are a Riesling fan\, the grape is one of the most transparent when it comes to terroir and minerality. A portion of this tasting will include 3 dry bottlings from their ‘Vom Schiefer’ series\, which essentially separates the wines from their Marienburg vineyard by soil type (grey\, red\, and blue slate). If you’ve ever wondered about the elusive ‘minerality’ in wine\, this tasting is for you! \nClemens Busch Riesling Tasting \nFriday\, March 13\, 5-8pm \nPrice: $45 for the flight

SUMMARY:Mascarin Wines From Matt Taylor
DESCRIPTION:Mascarin wines from the Sonoma Coast \nFriday\, March 6th 5-8pm \nJoin us for an evening exploring Mascarin Wines\, a boutique Sonoma County label rooted in thoughtful farming\, coastal influence\, and expressive\, terroir-driven winemaking. \nMascarin Family Wines is a small\, family-oriented project based just outside Healdsburg in Sonoma County that highlights the region’s unique maritime climate and diverse vineyard sites. The Mascarin portfolio reflects a commitment to sustainable viticulture\, attentive vineyard management\, and wines that speak clearly of their place in the Sonoma landscape. \nAt the heart of Mascarin’s wine program is winemaker Matt Taylor\, a third-generation Sonoma native who\, to me\, is one of the most fascinating winemakers in all of California. Matt’s career began as assistant winemaker at Joseph Swan Vineyards\, followed by formative experiences at Domaine Dujac in Burgundy\, working harvests in Argentina and New Zealand\, and serving as winemaker and vineyard manager for biodynamic estates like Araujo Estate Wines. Today he makes wines under his own eponymous label which has become revered within the natural wine circle\, but he also makes serious and classical wines for Ink Grade and Haynes. \nHe joined forces with Mia Mascarin-Oven\, 4th generation winegrower in Sonoma\, to help craft low intervention wines with a sense of place and ability to develop beautifully over time. \n2024 Mascarin Rosé of Pinot Noir \n2022 Mascarin Chardonnay\, Dalya Estate Vineyard\, Sonoma Coast \n2023 Mascarin Pinot Noir\, Moonshine Ranch Vineyard\, Sonoma Coast \n2023 Mascarin Red Field Blend\, Angelo Estate Vineyard\, Dry Creek Valley \n$30 for the flight\, also available by the glass

SUMMARY:Friday Night Flight: 6 Sauvignon Blancs for Spring
DESCRIPTION:It’s spring (sprinting into summer)\, and few wines pair as well with warm weather and spring veggies as Sauvignon Blanc. Sauv Blanc runs the gamut from bright\, crisp\, and mineral to rich\, dense\, and tropical\, and we’re going to try the full range with some new favorites in the shop. \nNapa\, Sonoma\, and Mendocino will be represented locally\, with Bordeaux and Sancerre from abroad. Bottles priced from $19 to $70 and will all be on sale so you can stock up for the nice weather. \nSauvignon Blanc has become one of my very favorite varietals. Acidity\, minerality\, texture\, tension\, this grape has it all. We’ve got some better known names like Ariettaand Arnot-Roberts\, and we also have some less-discovered brands like Desire Lines (at any given point\, my favorite wine in the shop) and a brand new favorite Donley. A few winemakers may be kicking around pouring. It’ll be a great lineup! \nSauvignon Blanc Tasting \nFriday\, March 20\, 5-8pm \nPrice: $40 for a flight of 6

SUMMARY:April 9th For the Riesling Nerds: Vom Boden x Outer Space
DESCRIPTION:If you’re even remotely a Riesling person\, this is the tasting to come to. \nOn April 9th\, our buddy Stephen Bitterolf of Vom Boden is back in town. If you were here for the party last year then you know it’s a rocking good time. \nVom Boden imports one of the coolest portfolios of German wines out there. We’re going to be pouring wines from two of his producers that we particularly love: Hermann Ludes and Ulli Stein. \nWhether you’re deep down the Riesling Nerd Rabbit Hole or just like a good party\, I can’t recommend coming to this tasting enough. It’s one of our favorite events of the year. \nThursday\, April 9th \n6 – 8pm \nOuter Space Wines \n  \n

SUMMARY:Friday Night Flights: Evangelho Masterclass
DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, April 17th from 5-8pm for a tasting and Masterclass on the wines from Evangelho Vineyard in Contra Costa\, California. \nIn collaboration with the Historic Vineyard Society\, a non-profit dedicated to the preservation of California’s historic vineyards\, we have gathered 8 wines from this unique vineyard to see what makes it so compelling. \nEvangelho Vineyard\, tucked into the sandy delta of Contra Costa County\, is one of California’s most important living relics of 19th-century viticulture—a site planted in the 1890s by Portuguese farmers and preserved against nearly impossible odds as development swallowed the surrounding farmland. Its significance isn’t just age\, but survival: own-rooted\, head-trained vines—many over 120 years old—still grow in deep\, phylloxera-resistant beach sand\, a rare\, nearly extinct model of how California vineyards once looked and functioned. \nWhat makes these old vines so compelling is the combination of genetic diversity\, struggle\, and equilibrium—a true field blend of Zinfandel\, Carignane\, Mourvèdre\, and more\, with roots plunging 30–40 feet into the sand\, dry-farmed and untouched by modern replanting or irrigation. The result is fruit that feels both ancient and precise: naturally balanced\, high-acid\, and deeply expressive\, carrying a kind of quiet intensity that only comes from vines that have adapted to the same place for over a century. \nWe are thrilled to be pouring wines from the following producers: Ridge\, Bedrock Wine Co\, Turley\, Neyers\, Desire Lines\, T-Vine\, Birdhorse\, Fine Disregard\, and Soleras del Pacifico. \nSecure your ticket today!

SUMMARY:Friday Night Flights: Swiss Wines and Melty Cheese
DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, April 24th\, we’re pouring a lineup of Swiss wines alongside proper raclette—melted\, scraped\, and served the way it should be. \nIf you’ve never had Swiss wine\, this is the perfect entry point. Very little of it makes it out of the country\, and what does tends to be distinctive\, alpine\, and incredibly food-friendly. Crisp whites and light reds paired with raclette\, the gooey\, melted alpine cheese that is made for this style of wines. It’s simple. It’s indulgent. It’s very\, very good. \nDetails: \n\nFriday\, April 24th\n5–8pm\n$30 per person + $10 for cheese

SUMMARY:Friday Night Flights: May 8th\, Balance In Santa Barbara with Ojai Vineyard
DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, May 8th\, we’re opening five wines from The Ojai Vineyard\, one of Santa Barbara’s true benchmarks. Long before the region found its footing\, Adam Tolmach was making wines rooted in place—savory and structured yet unmistakably Californian. \nSince founding the winery in 1983\, Tolmach’s approach has always been independent and deeply site-driven. Long before it became common\, he focused on: \n\n\nSingle-vineyard bottlings \n\n\nMinimal intervention winemaking (native fermentations\, restrained oak\, no excess weight) \n\n\nA commitment to balance over power\, even in warm California vintages \n\n\nThe Lineup: \n\n\nVermentino ‘Camp 4 Vineyard’\, Santa Barbara County\, 2024 \n\n\nChardonnay ‘Clima Frio’\, Santa Barbara County\, 2024 \n\n\nGrenache ‘John Sebastiano Vineyard’\, Sta Rita Hills\, 2023 \n\n\nSyrah\, Clima Frío\, Santa Barbara County\, 2023 \n\n\nRiesling Dessert Wine\, Santa Barbara\, 2023 375ml \n\n\n\nThese are wines that have influenced a generation of California producers—proof that Santa Barbara can deliver nuance\, freshness\, and longevity. \n  \nBalance from Santa Barbara: The Ojai Vineyard \nFriday\, May 8th\, 5-8pm \n$35 per person (free for social club)
